What's known on the subject? and What does the study add?Androgens and receptor analyses, which constitute an important step in cell growth and differentiation, play a role in bladder cancer.Antiandrogen therapies have a positive effect on bladder tumors.Studies showed 30% decrease in the recurrence of bladder cancer among patients treated with 5α-R type-1/2 inhibitor.Dutasteride failed to show predicted efficacy in recurrence of bladder cancer.However the decrease in recurrences after the 6 th month of dutasteride treatment and the fact that the lack of progression during the treatment is promising for future studies.
