ETNOBOTANI BAHAN PANGAN MASYARAKAT DUSUN PEMATANG MERBAU DESA SUNGAI AWAN KIRI KECAMATAN MUARA PAWAN KABUPATEN KETAPANG

Ethnobotany is the study of the traditional use of plants by the community in meeting their daily needs. It is important to study the use of plants by the community or etobotany so that their knowledge in the use of these plants is not lost in the flow of modernization, including the people of Pematang Merbau Hamlet, Sungai Awan Kiri Village, Muara Pawan District, Ketapang Regency. This study aims to examine the use of food plants by the people of Pematang Merbau Hamlet and to study based on scientific (ethical) basis. This study uses a survey method with the selection of respondents using a snowball sampling technique, namely determining the respondent's key and then determining other respondents based on information from previous respondents. The research was conducted through three stages, namely literature review, interviews and field observations as well as data processing and analysis. From research conducted on the community of Pematang Merbau Hamlet, there are 107 species of food plants that are used by the community which are included in 45 plant families. The groups that use food plants by the Pematang Merbau hamlet are staple foods (1 species), carbohydrate sources (10 species), fruits (46 species), vegetables (29 species), cooking spices and spices (25 species), as well as beverage ingredients (7 species). 40% of the food plants used by the community are wild plants and the remaining 60% are cultivated plants. The most widely used family is the Cucurbitaceae family with 9 species and the most widely used habitus is trees by 42%.Keywords: Ethnobotany, Food Crops, Pematang Merbau Hamlet.AbstrakEtnobotani merupakan ilmu yang mempelajari mengenai pemanfaatan tumbuhan oleh masyarakat secara tradisonal dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan sehari-hari. Kajian terhadap pemanfaatan tumbuhan oleh masyarakat tradisional atau etobotani penting dilakukan agar pengetahuan kearifan mereka dalam pemanfaatan tumbuhan tersebut tidak hilang ditelan arus modernisasi termasuklah pada masyarakat Dusun Pematang Merbau, Desa Sungai Awan Kiri, Kecamatan Muara Pawan, Kabupaten Ketapang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengetahuan pemanfaatan tumbuhan pangan oleh masyarakat Dusun Pematang Merbau dan mengkaji berdasarkan pengetahuan ilmiah (etik). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pemilihan responden dilakukan dengan teknik snowball sampling yaitu menentukan responden kunci untuk kemudian mentukan responden yang lain berdasarkan informasi dari responden sebelumnya. Penelitian dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu kajian pustaka, wawancara dan observasi lapangan serta pengolahan dan analisis data. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan pada masyarakat Dusun Pematang Merbau, terdapat 107 spesies tumbuhan pangan yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat yang termasuk kedalam 45 famili tumbuhan. Kelompok pemanfaatan tumbuhan pangan oleh masyarakat Dusun Pematang Merbau yaitu makanan pokok (1 spesies), sumber karbohidrat (10 spesies), buah-buahan (42 spesies), sayur-sayuran (29 spesies), bumbu masak dan rempah (25 spesies), serta bahan minuman (7 spesies). Tumbuhan pangan yang dimanfaatkan masyarakat 40% berupa tumbuhan liar dan sisanya 60% merupakan tanaman hasil budidaya. Famili yang paling banyak digunakan adalah famili Cucurbitaceae sebanyak 9 spesies dan habitus yang banyak digunakan yaitu pohon sebesar 42%.Kata kunci: Etnobotani, Bahan Pangan, Dusun Pematang Merbau
