摘要

•Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped CaYAlO4, CaGdAlO4, and CaLaAlO4 upconversion phosphors were synthesized.•The energy band structures and density of states distributions of three samples before and after Er3+/Yb3+ doping were investigated by density functional theory.•By eliminating the influence of variables as much as possible, the main factors affecting the upconversion luminescence performance are obtained.
