Design and Research of Tunnel Reflective Coatings Based on Safety and Energy Saving Requirements

The advantages and disadvantages of the tunnel light environment will lead to increased lighting energy consumption or increased traffic risks. Reflective coatings have good optical properties, which can effectively balance and improve the above status quo. In this study, DIALux lighting software was used to explore the light environment creation and energy saving performance of reflective coatings in the arrangement of reflectivity of 50% to 90% and height of 1 to 6 m. The 30 design working conditions will be compared with the standard working conditions to analyze the light environment improvement effect in five aspects, including road brightness, brightness uniformity, unified glare value (UGR), vertical illuminance, and physiological equivalent illuminance. An additional 30 optimization schemes for changing the spacing of the lights further demonstrate the energy saving potential of the reflective coatings. The research results show that the improvement rate of the road surface brightness of the reflective coating used in the actual project is slightly greater than the energy saving rate, and the design should reach 2/3 of the area of the sidewall of the tunnel and the reflectivity should be higher than 70%.
