Research on recovery performance strengthening of nitrogen and phosphorus in AnMBR based on crystallization reaction

Phosphorus is a non-renewable mineral resource. Recovering nitrogen and phosphorus from high concentration wastewater can not only alleviate the crisis of phosphorus resource shortage but also reduce the environmental pollution caused by excessive discharge of nitrogen and phosphorus. Anaerobic Membrane Bioreactor (AnMBR) has the ability to treat high concentration wastewater, and combining AnMBR with other processes can also realize the recycling of resources, but the serious membrane fouling still restricts its development. This paper reviewed the characteristics of the AnMBR and discussed the problem of membrane fouling. It was introduced that the carrier can be added to enhance the pollutant removal efficiency and slow down the membrane fouling. At the same time, the added carrier can be used as the crystal seed of magnesium ammonium phosphate (MAP) crystal to realize the recovery of nitrogen and phosphorus.
