Abstract
The measurement of ethanol gas concentration was achieved by using an optical fiber SPR sensing system combined with the scheme of new gas-sensitive material ZnSnO3 / TiO2. Due to the redox reaction between the material and ethanol gas, the change of ethanol gas concentration changes the material resistance, resulting in the alteration of effective refractive index on the optical fiber surface, which is manifested in the significant deviation of SPR resonance trough of optical fiber. Therefore, the detection of the concentration of ethanol gas at ordinary temperature can be realized by observing the deviation of resonant wavelength. The test results demonstrate that the sensitivity of the optical fiber sensor is 6.92 pm / ppm in the ethanol gas concentration range of 100ppm-1000ppm.
