Parental awareness and management of bullying in children with food allergies

IgE-mediated food allergy (FA) affects nearly 10% of children,1 and 35% to 45% of children with FA report experiencing bullying. 2,3 Children with FA are twice as likely to be bullied compared with children without FA, and parents are often unaware that it is occurring.2,3 Little is known about parental management of FA-related bullying. We sought to evaluate parental awareness and management of bullying in their children with FA.
