OpenAI ChatGPT Generated Results: Similarity Index of Artificial Intelligence-Based Contents

A recently developed artificial intelligence (AI) model called ChatGPT by OpenAI, which performs complex cognitive tasks, has gained popularity among academics and institutions in recent months. The function raises concerns about the potential for academic dishonesty for students who create essays and subjects using ChatGPT. Especially in higher education settings where such requirements as research papers are common, the study found that ChatGPT offers a possible risk to the integrity of essay submissions. This study will use Ouriginal by Turnitin and a paraphrasing tool to evaluate the similarity index of text produced by ChatGPT. Contents of the research papers published by Pangasinan State University authors were asked in the ChatGPT chat session. The ChatGPT’s produced material resembles the study paper the writers of the institution. The generated findings’ similarity index breached the threshold set by the school, according to the results, which may compromise academic integrity. To prevent the use of such a model as a means of cheating, the institution may revise its evaluation technique.
