摘要
With the integration of renewable energy sources such as wind, solar and hydrogen, smart grid technology is enabling the effective management and distribution of power grids. The development and implementation of smart grid technology has become one of the greatest frontiers in electrical engineering. With the increasing demand for smart grid in industries and with concern for the reduction of greenhouse gases, and the shifting of existing drive systems to a carbon-free economy in present market are all essential. The complexity of changing the human approach of transportation goes beyond the technical and economic aspects and very few research activities have managed to capture the additional factors. A comprehensive analysis of political, economic, social, technical, legislative and environmental aspects and a rigorous assessment of the achievability of electronic vehicle (EV) integration goals is aimed to develop in future. Storage technologies for the technical and economic benefits are also considered. Identification and localization of power quality disturbances have been proposed in the chapter.
