SSCS Webinars for Young Excellence (WYE)—A Virtual Bridge for YPs and Students [Society News]

Around the beginning of 2020—when the pandemic had just started—a group of IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS) young professionals (YPs) initiated the idea of using virtual webinars to deliver nontechnical yet critical skills to the YP members. In addition, the webinars can also bridge the YPs and senior members. With generous help from the SSCS Webinar Committee and support from the senior members, the Webinar for Young Excellence (WYE) commenced its first webinar in 2020 May. After almost three years, the WYE program has become one of the staple programs within the SSCS and has reached out to thousands of young members and students through the quarterly webinar series. The webinars are offered free to both IEEE and non-IEEE members to benefit a wider community and potentially increase membership. Through the webinars, we can also reach members from all corners of the globe.
