摘要
Recently, researchers have strived to enhance the optical characteristics of Quantum Dots (QDs) by carefully tailoring the QD material composition, shape and size. In this endeavor, simulation proves an invaluable tool to assess and optimize the QD structure. In this paper, the optical properties of QD structures are explored, taking into account the complex band structure of the QD and its geometric structure, as well as the probability of quantum state transitions. In order to perform this analysis the In‐house Simulator (DaVinci_QD), based on 3D FEM, was developed and applied. We demonstrate that the DaVinci_QD simulator exhibits good agreement with experiment, providing confidence that the tool be applied to predict optical characteristics with accuracy. The simulator is applied to state‐ofthe‐art QDs that are currently under development, offering additional insight to aid in the analysis of optical measurements and revealing paths to further performance enhancement. In this way, simulation can replace experiment and QD structures can be optimized rapidly.
