Effect of preoperative chemical labyrinthectomy on quality of life and visual sensitivity in patients after the vestibular schwannoma surgery.

Objectives Improvement of quality of life and minimizing of vestibular disorders postoperatively is one of the current goals in treatment of patients with vestibular schwannoma. Preoperative chemical vestibular ablation can reduce vestibular symptoms in patients after vestibular schwannoma resection. Our aim was to evaluate the effect of preoperative application of gentamicin on postoperative quality of life and visual sensitivity.
