Influence of laser parameters on the machining performance of textured cutting tools

摘要
•Cutting forces and friction reduction of linear textured tools have been examined.•Fluence = 31 J/cm2 and number of pulses per surface spot = 5 produced consistent textures on the carbide substrate.•Compared to plain tools, textured tools reduce cutting forces by 14% to 20%.•Textured tools reduce surface roughness by 60% compared to plain tools.
