摘要
A compact RF linac system based on 200-MHz radio-frequency quadrupole (RFQ) with an output energy of 1 MeV/n is under development at KOMAC (Korea Multi-purpose Accelerator Complex) for multiple purposes. It can be used as a test stand for developing accelerator technology and for studying beam physics. In addition, it is possible to use the system for ion beam implantation for semiconductor devices and advanced polymer development as well as for neutron generation to study material science. The system consists of a 2.45-GHz microwave ion source, a low-energy beam transport system with two solenoids, a 200-MHz four-vane RFQ, and two beam lines with target stations. Fabrication and installation of the linac system were successfully completed including auxiliary systems such as a vacuum system, cooling system, and control system. Through the RF condition, we achieved the design duty at a reduced field level and reached the design field level at reduced duty. Details on the development of the compact linac system along with the initial test results will be given in this paper.
