51. the Utility of Cognitive Intra-Individual Variability in Healthy Aging and Cognitive Impairment

Changes in cognitive performance are a hallmark of both healthy aging and neurodegenerative conditions. Yet, there has been little work in developing measures that monitor individual differences in neurocognition, despite significant evidence of heterogeneity in disease presentation and progression. Recent investigations of intra-individual variability (IIV) indicate that examining IIV can provide unique predictive information about cognitive functioning beyond mean performance. Here, we describe the Cognitive Variability Toolbox and report results from healthy older adults (HOA) and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI).
