In-situ formed CuFe2O4 spinel coating by electroplating method for solid oxide fuel cell interconnect

摘要
•Stoichiometric CuFe2 alloy is deposited on the SUS 430 by electroplating method.•DFT and COMSOL results reveal the mechanism of CuFe2 alloy electroplating process.•CuFe2O4 spinel coating is successfully obtained through in-situ thermal oxidation.•The dense CuFe2O4 protective coating prevents the interconnect from oxidizing.•CuFe2O4 coating effectively alleviates chromium poisoning in the cathode.
