Tough, self-healing polyurethane with novel functionality for fully recoverable layered sensor arrays

•We report on fully self-healing sensor system based on newly synthesized OC-PU.•Novel, tough OC-PU showed high self-healing efficiency of 93.7% heated at 65 ℃.•Fabricated capacitive pressure sensor showed fast response and stable operation.•Sensor with healable electrode showed stable operation after repeated bisection.•Patterned sensor array with galinstan interconnection could be fully self-healed.
