摘要

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a pervasive mental illness, and treatments often provide limited symptom relief or long-term remission, partly due to our limited understanding of its pathophysiology. This meta-analysis aims to advance our understanding of the neural basis of MDD in adults as well as address inconsistencies and discrepancies among functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies.
