The test–retest reliability of large and small fiber nerve excitability testing with threshold tracking

•The intra- and inter-day reliabilities of motor and sensory nerve excitability tests and perception threshold tracking were examined in 18 subjects.•Motor and sensory nerve excitability testing using threshold tracking technique shows good–excellent test–retest reliability.•Threshold tracking tests can be applied directly to small fibers via a psychophysical readout, but with the current technique, the reliability is poor.
