Rationale: Patients with CD often have inadequate energy and protein intake, resulting in increased risk of protein-energy malnutrition. The aim of the present study was to assess energy needs, energy and protein intake of CD patients and to compare them with the recommended energy (REI) and protein intake (RPI).
