摘要

•Cl- ions are useful to form P-zwitterion-(Cl)-Fe and zwitterion-(Cl)-Fe complexes.•LA is not recommended to be used alone in concrete for corrosion protection.•PO43- ions help to form P-zwitterion-(Cl)-Fe and FePO4 for corrosion resistance.•LA and PO43- ions considerably increased the chloride threshold of steel rebar.
