Spectral separability of bark beetle infestation stages: A single-tree time-series analysis using Planet imagery

•Multi-temporal spectral analysis of bark beetles’ infestation stages over four months with daily Planet images.•Spectral separability of bark beetle infestation stages over time.•Spectral signatures of green-attack stage trees at the end of the summer showed a statistically significant difference from the ones of healthy trees.•Healthy trees showed always a significant spectral separability from red-attack infested trees.
