A breakthrough in the performance and fuel utilization of methanol microfluidic fuel cell via viscous co-flow electrolyte

摘要
•A methanol MFC with viscous alkaline-acid dual-electrolyte co-flow was developed.•Achieved a high OCV of 1.6 V and a peak power density of nearly 90 mW cm−2.•The peak power density was the highest among those reported co-flow methanol MFCs.•The fuel utilization was about 7.5 times higher than the average of the aqueous co-flow MFCs.
