摘要
•An advanced three-dimensional (3D) base isolation system was proposed.•A high-precision numerical simulation method for soil-structure interaction (SSI) was developed.•A three-way coupling analysis of the 3D base-isolated nuclear power plants (NPPs) was implemented.•An important influence of SSI on the effectiveness of NPPs with 3D base isolation in complex-layered sites was fully determined.•The rocking effects should be accounted in the 3D base isolation design of NPPs.
