摘要

•Biomass fly ash from practical boiler was used to produce Li4SiO4-based adsorbent.•Differences between industrial ash and lab-scale ash derived sorbent were revealed.•Secondary element removal effects of water-/acid-washing pretreatment were studied.•Acid-washed ash derived Li4SiO4 shows a great capacity of ∼0.35 g/g in 7 cycles.
