Floor modal mass identification using human-induced dynamic excitation

•It proposes an iterative correction method to identify the modal mass of floors from the resonant response under single-person dynamic loading.•Human-induced excitation experiments with force insoles on two prestressed floors were conducted.•Experimental results show that the proposed method is convenient with high accuracy.
