A Correlation Between Texture Evolution and Dislocation Density in Al-Mg Alloys During Uniaxial Tensile Deformation

•Texture development during tensile deformation was studied by neutron diffraction.•The 〈001〉 and 〈111〉 duplex texture was developed in Al-Mg alloys.•The 〈001〉 deformation texture was dependent of initial 〈001〉 cube texture.•The development of 〈111〉 texture was clearly presented in high Mg-added alloys.•An increase in dislocation density induces 〈111〉 orientation from initial random orientations.
