Images cipher based on convolution with chaotic maps and retrieving using the alternating direction method of multipliers

Keeping information hidden has been of paramount importance in all civilizations. Cryptography has accompanied humanity for millennia and many encryption methods and models have been proposed. One of the main challenges for information encryption is the encryption method, which implies that the invulnerability of the encryption system is directly related to how this process is conducted. Herein, we propose an encryption model based on a convolution process, and because the convolution lacks a direct inversion process (such as the Fourier transform), restoring encrypted data to its original state is not a simple task. The results of this work show that the proposed model is highly resistant to external attacks, which makes it a good candidate for information encryption applications.
