摘要
Spinal cord stimulators (SCS) are a viable treatment option for chronic pain. Two common primary indications for SCS implantation are failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS) and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Type 1 (CRPS-1) (1). Studies have shown that patients with FBSS have better response to SCS over conservative management or repeat surgery (2) and CRPS-1 patients reported significant improvement in perceived effect and pain relief long term (3). A known reason for explant of SCS systems is due to pocket pain at the site where the implanted pulse generator (IPG) is placed. To circumvent this complication, new technology known as micro-implantable pulse generator has been efficacious in providing analgesia and resolving pocket pain (4).
