摘要

•An environmentally friendly chitin composite sponge with different sizes of CB was fabricated.•Small CB could provide higher specific surface energy, thus enhanced the π-π interactions to MPs.•Sponge possesses high absorption and the adsorption process is spontaneous adsorption of chemical multilayer.
