摘要
We read with great interest the recent article published by Matsubara et al. [ [1] Matsubara T. et al. Improved intervertebral bone union in ALIF rat model with porous hydroxyapatite/collagen combined with platelet-rich plasma. Spine J. 2022; Google Scholar ] entitled “Improved intervertebral bone union in ALIF rat model with porous hydroxyapatite/collagen combined with platelet-rich plasma " published in September 2022 in the Spine Journal. The application effect of platelet rich plasma (PRP) in orthopedics is uncertain [ 2 Archundia T.R. Soriano J.C. Corona J.N. [Utility of platelet-rich plasma and growth factors bone in the bone defects. Regional Hospital Lic. Adolfo López Mateos, ISSSTE]. Acta Ortop Mex. 2007; 21: 256-260 Google Scholar , 3 Carreon L.Y. et al. Platelet gel (AGF) fails to increase fusion rates in instrumented posterolateral fusions. Do autologous growth factors enhance transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion?. Eur Spine J. 2003; 12: 400-407 Crossref PubMed Scopus (137) Google Scholar ]. Their findings showed artificial bone and PRP together could promote bone fusion in the intervertebral disc space. We appreciate the effort the authors have put on this topic.
