Review of photocatalytic ZnO nanomaterials made by atomic layer deposition

In this article we review the possibilities of photocatalytically active ZnO nanomaterials synthesized using atomic layer deposition (ALD). ZnO is a widely researched photocatalytic material, which properties are affected by different factors like structure and morphology. Discussion on the structural possibilities, incorporation of another materials like elements, metals or semiconductors highlighting ZnO/TiO2 heterostructures, polymer fibers, carbon nanomaterials (like carbon nanotubes or graphene-oxide) and biomaterials were done.
