Regionalized organoids have recently been developed to resemble a particular brain region. However, generating organoids with even finer sub-regional resolution has proven challenging. In this issue of Cell Stem Cell, Kiral et al. report a new organoid model resembling the human ventral thalamus and thalamic reticular nucleus.
