A New Score for Improving Cardiovascular Risk Prediction and Prevention

•Detection of extra-coronary subclinical atherosclerosis (scATS) improves stratification of CV risk.•Synergistic power of scATS with Framingham risk score (FHRS) as a combined score is unknown.•Atherosclerosis burden score (ABS) is the ultrasonography number of carotid and femoral arteries plaques.•The combined score FHRAB improved the CV predictive ability of the FHRS.•FHRABS offers a simple-to-use, radiation-free score to promote personalized CV prevention.
