Metaphyseal sclerosis in a child with a giant cell tumour treated with denosumab.

A 2-year-old boy presented to our unit with swelling of the left side of his face and mouth. He had been investigated before we saw him, and imaging was consistent with recurrence of a giant cell tumour in the left maxilla. 2 months earlier, the patient had a subtotal resection of the mass; he had initially presented aged 1 year and 11 months with a painless swelling of the left side of his mouth. On examination the patient was generally well; he had a 2 cm × 2 cm reddish purple bulging lesion on the left palate.
