摘要

•Bisphthalazinone thioether moiety imparts poly(aryl ether)s with excellent high- and low-temperature resistance and good solubility.•These polymers have high light transmittance and excellent mechanical properties.•These polymers have outstanding inherent flame retardancy and passed UL-94 V-0 level test.•The flame-retardanct mechanism was systematically investigated.
