摘要

•VBO between crystalline gamma alumina and (1 0 0) p-diamond has been measured by XPS yielding 3.4 eV.•A bandgap of 6.7 eV was measured for gamma alumina using the energy loss of the O(1s).•A staggered band setting with a CBO of −2.2 eV is deduced for gamma alumina and (1 0 0) p-diamond.
