摘要
•Electricity storage using the reversible redox reaction is shown to be feasible.•The theoretical limits of various processes are optimised using exergy analysis.•An electrical heater providing high grade heat (charge) produces the best results.•The best system has storage capacity of 600–800 kWh/m3and efficiency of 40–55%.
