A MAC Protocol Based on Coefficient of Variation Method in Energy Harvesting Wireless Body Area Network.

For wireless body area networks (WBANs), some researchers have tried to solve the energy limitation problem by using external energy to replenish the nodes. However, it poses new difficulties and challenges, and most of the existing supplementation schemes lack robustness. Since most of the schemes are heavily dependent on the environment and have prominent energy imbalance problems, to solve these problems and further improve the comprehensive performance of the system, we propose a scheme based on kinetic energy harvesting technology, which uses simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) to ensure that WBAN nodes receive balanced energy replenishment and are coordinated through a time allocation strategy. In addition, we also design a MAC protocol based on the coefficient of variation method, which fully considers the data congestion level and the remaining energy level of nodes to achieve a reasonable dynamic allocation of time slot resources. Finally, we conduct extensive experiments to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the scheme in terms of life cycle and energy utilization.
