Real-time Energy Management System for a Multiport DC/AC Inverter.

Renewable energy sources (RES) are crucial in reducing dependency on fossil fuels and mitigating the effects of climate change. The combination of RES, such as photovoltaic (PV) arrays, and energy storage systems (ESSs) is becoming increasingly important since it is able to improve the predictability of power generation. This paper presents a novel multiport DC/AC inverter system that integrates a PV array, an ESS and an electric vehicle (EV) through real-time power optimization, improving energy management, power flow and cost-effectiveness while adapting to load demands. The real-time energy management system utilizes an optimization algorithm based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) able to manage the flow of energy among the different energy sources and improve the overall performance. Experimental results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed system in terms of energy management and power quality performance.
