Development of a Learning Object for Teaching Statistics

In this work, we present the development process of the Learning Object "garu estatis-tica", devised to help the learning of statistics by higher education students. This tool was developed based on the ConstruMED method of constructing digital educational materials, following the Ministry of Education guidance documents for higher education courses. The programming language used was R/Shiny. Shiny is a package of R software used to create interactive, intuitive web applications without the need for programming knowledge. The 'garu estatistica" application presents the main concepts of descriptive statistics, separated into interactive tabs: variable type, frequency distribution, summary measures, and graph types. We believe that this Learning Object will help undergraduate students consolidate the basic concepts, favoring and simplifying learning. Furthermore, "garu estatistica" is a learning tool available to all teachers who wish to use it.
