High Front to Back Ratio H-plane Horn Antenna based on Groove Gap Waveguide

摘要
In this paper, a high front to back ratio H-plane horn antenna based on Groove Gap waveguide(GGW) is designed. The gradient trapezoidal grooves are introduced symmetrically on the upper and lower metal plates to improve the horn aperture distribution, thereby the gain and front to back ratio are improved. The step transition is used to realize the conversion between waveguide and gap waveguide, so as to obtain good impedance matching performance. The simulation results show that compared with the original structure, the gain of the horn is increased by more than 3dB, and the front to back ratio is increased by more than 6dB. The measured results are basically consistent with the simulation results.
