Computational Graphology Applied to Handwriting Images

Graphology is a technique used to assess the writer's personality traits from his/her handwriting features. Manual feature extraction and analysis is a time consuming and labor intensive task. Therefore, computational graphology systems have been developed by researchers to overcome these issues. In this paper, we present a list of the latest state-of-the-art on computerized graphology systems in terms of their characteristics, their performance, and the image data used. We also illustrate how a real system works on several groups of famous people and professionals, and different languages (English, French, and Chinese) for one particular writer over a period of four decades.
