Signaling crosstalk between brassinosteriods and jasmonates in plant defense, growth, and development

Plant hormones known as brassinosteroids (BRs) and jasmonates (JAs) actively participate in several critical growth and developmental processes when exposed to abiotic stresses. Furthermore, BRs and JAs are well-known for their potential to attenuate stress-induced perturbations in normal metabolism by triggering several plant tolerance mechanisms. Signaling crosstalk between BRs and JAs is frequently viewed as a source of mutual antagonism, while it may be advantageous. The effects of other hormones in regulating stress tolerance may be fine-tuned due to this crosstalk. Therefore, the goal of this study is to go through the available data on the role and underlying mechanisms of BRs in plant developmental responses and tolerance to key abiotic stresses, as well as their interactions with JAs in plant growth regulation. Additionally, the introduction and up- and downregulation of BRs and JAs-related genes to increase agricultural yield have been listed. The interaction (crosstalk) between BRs and JAs in controlling physio-biochemical processes in plants has also been described.
