Nickel Manganese Hydroxide on Hierarchically Porous Phenolic Resin As a High-Performance Electrode Material for Supercapacitors

Novel electrode composite materials consisting of NiMn spherical double hydroxide coated on the phenolic resin (PR) were successfully synthesized using water bath and hydrothermal methods. Spherical Ni(OH)(2) was generated using the water bath method and used as a template. A series of composite electrodes (PR@NiMn) were obtained by making adjustments to the amount of manganese acetate (Mn(CH3COO)(2).4H(2)O) using a hydrothermal method. PR@NiMn SDH-1.5 exhibited excellent electrochemical performance and achieved a maximum specific capacitance of 559 F g(-1), remaining at 93.2% of the initial capacity following 10,000 cycles. In addition, the symmetric cell based on PR@NiMn SDH-1.5 demonstrated a power density of 374 W kg(-1) and an energy density of 24.1 Wh kg(-1), indicating that it has potentially promising practical application prospects. This PR-based electrode material preparation strategy will provide new opportunities for the development of low-cost and efficient energy storage devices.
