Design and Implementation of Power Line Carrier and Wireless Dual-Mode Communication Physical Layer Forward Error Correction Coding

Power line carrier and wireless dual-mode communication becomes a new direction of power grid information collection. In view of the low degree of integration of heterogeneous physical layers in dual-mode communication, this paper proposes a dual-mode encoder design based on the characteristics of forward error correction (FEC) processing. This design includes function modules such as block encoder, Turbo encoder, channel interleaver, copy diversity, and saved circuit resources by time-division multiplexing modules such as Turbo encoder and interleaver. The feasibility of the design is verified by the simulation of the Verilog code, and then the RTL code is compiled and synthesized based on the SMIC55nm process to analyze the total amount of logical resources saved in the actual circuit. The results of simulation and synthesizing prove that the design in this paper can save circuit consumption, improve coding efficiency, and achieve the design goals of reducing production cost and signal delay.
