摘要

•Our study provides the first comparison regarding cccDNA levels and transcriptional activity between CLB and FNA samples.•No significant differences between FNA and CLB samples were seen in the quantification of HBV cccDNA and 3.5-kb RNA.•These data support the use of FNAs in clinical trials to evaluate the intrahepatic viral reservoir during drug development.
