Long-term ingestion of β-lactoglobulin-bound AGEs induces colonic inflammation by modulating RAGE (TLR4)/MYD88/NF-κB signaling pathway and gut microbiota in mice

•β-LG AGEs significantly changed the composition of gut microbiota and decreased SCFAs in feces.•β-LG AGEs decreased the level of tight junction proteins in the mouse colon.•β-LG AGEs increased the level of LPS and activated the expression of RAGE(TLR4)/MYD88/NF-κB.•This study provides further evidence of the detrimental effects of dietary AGEs.
