摘要
The severity of COVID-19 varies significantly among individuals. Studying the genetic factors of the host helps us figure out the answer to that difference. We investigated the association between LZTFL1 rs17713054 polymorphism and the severity of COVID-19 in Iranian patients during July to August, 2022. 60 COVID-19 patients and 20 healthy controls have been investigated. Patients were assigned to two groups based on the severity of the disease. LZTFL1 rs17713054 polymorphism (G>A) was investigated by conventional PCR and Sanger sequencing. The average age of patients was 59.37± 17.32 yr and the most common preexisting condition in the severe group was diabetes (35.7%). LZTFL1 rs17713054 G allele predominated among controls (75%). There was a statistically significant difference in the frequency of the AA rs17713054 allele between serious, mild and healthy COVID-19 groups ( p = 041). The results showed that the frequency of the rs17713054 AA allele between strict, light and healthy COVID-19 controls was very different. Therefore, the importance of polymorphism LZTFL1 rs17713054 (A>G) in patients with COVID-19 was emphasized.
