IDH1 P.r132c Mutation in Prostatic Carcinoma with Psammomatous Calcifications: Report of Two Cases.

A novel subtype of prostatic carcinoma with distinct clinicopathological and molecular features, termed prostate cancer with psammomatous calcifications (PCWPC), has recently been reported by Mehra et al.1 The authors described four tumours, all of which had distinct intratumoural psammomatous calcifications (PC), occurred in men younger than 65 years (age range 48–61 years, mean 56.3 years), were anteriorly located, were high-grade (Grade Group ≥3), and harboured IDH1 mutations. Herein we report two additional similar tumours in radical prostatectomy (RP) specimens both with previously unreported IDH1 p.R132C mutation.
